From small beginnings as Predator Free Cambridge in 2017 we have achieved 23 traplines which are maintained by 70 passionate volunteers.

We’re thrilled to share that we are evolving into something bigger and bolder.

Under our new banner, Aroha Cambridge, we’re expanding our vision to become a more community-focused environmental group. While tackling predators remains a core mission, we’re now setting our sights on broader challenges — from pest plant control to native replanting and future water quality restoration.

Think of us as an urban landcare group with strong connections reaching out into Cambridge’s beautiful rural surrounds. Our mahi will complement and connect with neighbouring initiatives such as Predator Free Tamahere, Predator Free Karapiro, and Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari and other local projects.

But to truly make a difference, we need you.

In the coming months, we’ll be putting plans in place to nurture and protect the natural environment we all love. Together, we can preserve the unique biodiversity of Cambridge for generations to come.

We would really love to hear from you if you would be interested in helping us in these particular areas.

• Backyard Trapping Coordinator

Are you the well organised 'people' person that could head up our backyard trapping team? Or are you interested in backyard trapping. We need a support team here too.

• Community Engagement Coordinator

Are you interested in working with others to share the vision of Aroha Cambridge at occasional events? Or would you like to be part of the team doing this?

• Education Outreach

Would you be keen to help Aroha Cambridge connect with schools to offer education and project opportunities?  We need a support team here too.

• Stats Person

Are you comfortable with spreadsheets and reporting? We are looking for somebody to retrieve data from Trap NZ and share it with our trapping teams. If you have one day per month to spare and this sounds like you, please get in touch.

• Media Management

Do you like writing and social media? We need help to get our message out to our community via social media and articles. If you would like to help Aroha Cambridge in this way - please get in touch.

• Admin Assistant

Our organisation is growing, and this requires a lot of coordination and admin. Would you like to support us in this way? You would work alongside our paid administrator in a volunteer capacity. If you love admin and want to help, please get in touch.
